Volunteer
Camp Twin Lakes volunteers play an important role in the success of Camp Twin Lakes. From event planning and coordination to working on projects at our campsites, volunteers provide hundreds of hours of service to Camp Twin Lakes each year. We offer a variety of volunteer opportunities for groups and individuals with a range of interests and abilities. Caring people like you who want to make an ongoing commitment to volunteerism at Camp Twin Lakes are encouraged to help out in any of the following ways:
Camp Twin Lakes TLC:
Program/Activity Assistants
Summer: Monday-Thursday, 9:00am-1:00pm at both overnight camp locations (Rutledge and Winder)
Volunteers will assist the Camp Twin Lakes program staff and campers with a variety of activities including horseback riding, fishing, horseback, biking and more! Program volunteers must be the older of 16 years old or one year older than the oldest camper during the particular camp in session. Former campers interested in volunteering during the camp session of which they are alumni must first secure permission from the corresponding camp director. Volunteers should be dependable, sensitive to the needs of our campers with physical and mental challenges, able to work well with people of all ages, and comfortable working outdoors. Deadline to sign up is two weeks prior to the first volunteer date. We are seeking volunteers who can commit to volunteering once a week or every other week. Luggage Distribution- Sundays in the summer
Luggage Collection- typically Fridays in the summer
Volunteers are needed on the first day of Camp to distribute luggage to cabins and on the last day of Camp to help collect luggage from the cabins. Age minimum is 12 years old.
Housekeeping Assistants- Summer, Fridays and Saturdays at both camp locations (Rutledge and Winder)
Volunteers are needed to assist in keeping our facilities clean and beautiful. Turnover days are Friday and Saturday during the summer. Volunteers will help with collecting trash, cleaning cabins between camp groups (mopping, sanitizing, etc.), and deep cleaning the dining hall (tables and chairs). Age minimum is 18 years old. Great for individuals or groups up to 20 people, preferably those who can commit at least four hours. If you are interested, please contact Leena Sidhu.
Volunteer TLC Days - Volunteers are needed to assist with camp cleanup days on weekend afternoons during the fall and spring months. Volunteers under the age of 18 must be accompanied by adult chaperones. Volunteers ages 7-11 must have a one-to-one adult ratio. Volunteers ages 12-15 must have one adult for every two children, and volunteers ages 16-18 should be accompanied by one adult for every four teenagers. Volunteers are needed to staff various fundraising events throughout the year in and around the Atlanta area. Age minimum varies. Sign up online by clicking the VolunteerSpot button below.
Administrative Assistance:
Atlanta: Mondays-Fridays, 9:00am-5:00pm
We always need volunteer help in our Atlanta office. Volunteers may make phone calls, assemble mailings, assist with data entry, and help with other office work. Age minimum is 17 years old. Sign up online by clicking the VolunteerSpot button below, or contact Leena Sidhu directly.
Rutledge and Winder: Summer only, Monday-Thursday, 9:00am-1:00pm, 1:00-4:00pm, or 4:00-7:30pm
Volunteers are needed to commit to a weekly shift on an ongoing basis throughout the summer months (late May to early August). Duties include answering phones, welcoming visitors, opening the gate, and other office management tasks. Age minimum is 18. If you are interested, please contact Leena Sidhu.
Camp Counselors- Please check our web calendar for dates
Cabin counselors are needed throughout the summer to volunteer through our 40+ Camp Partners. Volunteers must be available for the entire duration of the camp program and will be required to go through a separate application and interview process through the specific Camp Partner as well as attend pre-camp orientation.
