Military Family Programs

Camp Twin Lakes’ Family Warrior Weekend (FWW) is a weekend retreat for active and retired service members and their immediate family members of all ages. *Priority is given to veterans and their families who’ve experienced combat, trauma and may have a diagnosis of Traumatic Brain Injury, Post Traumatic Stress, MST (military sexual trauma), and ALL women veterans. These camps are held at Camp Twin Lakes Will-A-Way inside Fort Yargo State Park in Winder, GA.

Our goal is to assist and educate participants and to support them physically, mentally, and emotionally. These camps offer service members, veterans and their families a fully accessible camp experience and new skills to take home once they leave camp. As a family, our campers can reconnect and rebuild their foundation in a relaxing and supportive environment.

Participants enjoy camp programming as a family with recreational activities like archery, boating, swimming, climbing wall and other challenge activities, and so much more. We also offer workshops and various skill-based programs as well as information about outside resources to utilize once participants leave camp.

Please fill out all the questions as completely as possible. It is imperative that we know as much information about your family as possible so that we can safely serve you at the retreat. There is a refundable $50 per family registration fee (if your family attends more than a few times, we ask that you contribute to assist those families coming for the first time.) If you are in need, financial assistance is available. Please know that we want as many families as possible to participate in the FWW program. We are limiting each family to attend two weekend retreats a year, with priority going to new families. If you are interested in attending more than one of the weekend retreats, we will add your family to our waiting list and notify you if there is space to accommodate your family.
